How did an ex-banker go from working on a trading floor to rolling around, training, walking, and caring for dogs? It took over a decade in the corporate world, a breakup, and a lot of therapy, to be honest. Most of all, I discovered that I could turn my long-held passion for caring for dogs into a full-time job and business.
After years of witnessing and hearing firsthand—from clients, friends, and even strangers—about the subpar standards in today’s pet care industry (not to mention reading daily stories about self-proclaimed “professionals” and their sometimes horrifying outcomes), I made it my mission to hold pet care providers to the highest standards. CityWags is dedicated to disrupting the industry norm of providing the bare minimum, ensuring that only experienced and properly vetted professionals care for your fur baby while always prioritizing safety, happiness, and comfort.
At CityWags, our team is licensed, insured, experienced, and thoroughly vetted. We’re also certified annually in CPR, as well as in oral and injection medical administration. And yes, we all share a major love for dogs and pets of all kinds.
If you’ve read this far, here’s a little more about how my personal journey transformed from therapy to a passion that now serves both domestic and international clients. CityWags began after a breakup led me to animal therapy, which evolved into a hobby and eventually inspired me to leave corporate life and pursue it full time.
My passion and love for animals inspired me to start CityWags—a fully licensed, bonded, and insured pet care company offering personalized one-on-one care where your dog is our top priority.
Why do we focus solely on individualized one-on-one care? Because time and again, I heard stories of poor experiences at high-volume companies. I wanted every dog to receive 100% devoted attention, whether it’s an hour walk or a three-week sitting or boarding. No dog is distracted by others in need, and no caregiver is juggling multiple commitments that could interfere with keeping your dog happy and tail-wagging.
We are proud to be an LGBT+ owned company. We volunteer and support local NYC animal rescue shelters—including Social Tees Animal Rescue and MuddyPaws—and provide free dog walking services to pet owners facing financial difficulties in underserved neighborhoods.
Our team is certified in CPR and medication administration, with specialties in areas such as separation anxiety, puppy training, and behavioral management. We provide daily photo and video updates so you’re always connected with your dog.
